February Luncheon Speaker

Graciela Greenberg was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She came to the US with her family and settled in New York. She earned her B.A. in French and Spanish literature along with an MS Ed. from Fordham University.

Graciela is married, with two daughters, two lovely sons-in-law and four amazing grandchildren. She was an educator at the high school level and has been in Florida since 2008.

Graciela is extremely active in the Manatee County Democratic Party and is currently co-president of the Hispanic Democratic Caucus of Manatee County along with Pedro Meledez.

The landslide victory of Ron DeSantis and the Republican Party of Florida in the 2022 midterms was largely possible thanks to unprecedented support from the Hispanic community.

In districts such as Miami-Dade County – which ceased to be a Demo-cratic stronghold for the first time in 20 years – Palm Beach, or Osceola, hundreds of thousands of Floridians of Venezuelan, Cuban and Puerto Rican descent flocked to vote for the right in the US midterm elections.

At least 56% of Florida’s Latinos voted for the re-election of Governor Ron DeSantis, specifically 68% of Cubans and 53% of “other Hispanics” (Mexicans, Colombians, Venezuelans, etc).

Graciela will be speaking on her take of why the Hispanic population of Florida has gravitated to-ward the Republican Party.
